let's start with a game...

to me this just seemed so new york... a long standing rivalry between two neighborhood schools... epiphany and immaculate... some of players were young, some graduated many years ago, but they still gather to battle it out on the playing field... in this case the game was street hockey. last year they tried over 35 vs. under 35, but apparently the young guys whooped ass so this year they're back to the division by alma mater... everyone seemed super friendly, and it was great to see the combination of younger guys on their slick roller blades matched with some of the older guys on quads... one guy even had the little old metal skates! ya gotta appreciate that devotion... (next week you can expect something from the night life around here... i just thought it might be good to start with a nice neighborhood feel... and of course, let's not forget about san francisco...)

they played in the middle of this crazy complex called stuyvesant town...
it looks like projects from the outside but apparently it's this
desired "planned community" owned by met life...

each team had plenty of subs...

resting after the pre-game kids match...

i prefer skates over roller blades...

a real family event...
