this week
you get a peek at ...
the oldest playground in the u.s.!

or at least the site of the oldest playground... i paid an early morning visit to the first public children's playground in the united states which was established in golden gate park in 1887. definitely "remodeled" along the way, it's pretty big.... it even has a carousel. golden gate park itself was established in 1870, covers 1,013 acres, accommodates, among other things, a historical landmark conservatory, several museums, a japanese tea garden, and a herd of buffalo.

the setting is beautiful...

the carousel seems pretty cool
(but wasn't open at 7:30 a.m...)

early morning was a VERY peaceful time at the park...
the fog was amazing...

you can find slides for all ages...

no one but the birds around...
and some kid's shoes...
