a little history for ya...

The Giants and the Dodgers both moved to CA in 1958. The Dodgers came from Brooklyn, the Giants came from Manhattan-- so they already had a standing crosstown rivalry. They have always been in the same division, which meant they had to compete directly with each other for a division title. Two years ago the Dodgers and Giants got into a battle of words. Matt Williams thought that Orel Hershheiser intentionally hit a player and swore to get back at him the following year. They always talk shit about each other. Blah. Blah...
